Not Alone is a group supporting transgender people (including non-binary ) living in the Plymouth, West Devon and East Cornwall areas. They host meetings every week from 7pm to 9pm in the Stoke area of Plymouth. Very friendly group and highly recommended.
Tranzwiki is a register of the many groups which support transgender people of all ages throughout the country. This register has been created by GIRES (Gender Identity and Research Society) and is divided into regions to enable easier searching for groups in your particular area. The LGBT Collective:
This site is an invaluable resource, containing an amazing number of links to hundreds of LGBT groups which exist throughout the South West peninsular. If you require an up to date knowledge base of safe groups to go to or contact, this is the place to find out.
A friendly and welcoming monthly social group for all lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, questioning and intersex people LGBTQI) and their friends and family members. We aim to support local LGBTQI people living in South Devon by providing a safe, fun and friendly drop-in night every second Thursday of the month.
Meetings are held in Totnes, but they also have weekend retreats for people at locations throughout the whole of Devon.
Gendered Intelligence is a community interest company that looks to engage people in debates about gender. They work predominantly within young people’s settings and have educative aims. They believe the arts are an amazing tool for sharing our stories, platforming the voices of trans people and building awareness around the ways in which heteronormativity regulates and restricts everyone.
The Beaumont Society:
The Beaumont Society is a national self help body run by and for the transgender community. We welcome all transgender people and their partners, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, creed or colour and all varieties from the nervous newcomers to those who are experienced and confident in their preferred gender.
Together with our sister organisations, since 1966, we’ve been at the forefront of supporting the transgender community, together with their partners and families, as well as advising and giving training on transgender issues.
Pride in Plymouth:
Is a non-profit community organisation that brings people and groups together to celebrate and promote the diversity that exist within the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans communities in Plymouth. The information, advice and support made available through our events and the pride in Plymouth network with our website as the hub allows us to advance community education so we can work together to eliminate discrimination in relation to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (lgbt) people in Plymouth, the surrounding area and further afield.
